    I love Rain Bird 1/4 inch brown pipe with emitters either 12 inch on center or 6 inch on center. In any event drip is the way to go regardless of styles. Put the water on the surface right by the plant and under the mulch. Works every time. The water column below the surface from drip really helps plants get a deep watering. Thanks for the video.

Some looked pretty dried out. Will they grow? I know they won’t bloom this year but if I keep them watered but not too much, will they be okay and bloom next year. They are in a full sun location. Thanks for your advice! Kay

    I'm in oklahoma, and it's mid-May here. I bought 4 bare root trees 3 bald cupresses and 1 Northern catalpa. I think my best option is to pot these bare root trees because it's about to get a whole lot hotter and don't think the trees will survive in a permanent place. I'm going to baby them until this fall. Otherwise I highly doubt they would survive being out in 80 degree whether, when dormant and getting full sun. I don't see another option

    I think some, silica, CalMag and fish nitrates are good in a foliar spray and I swear by it. I grow soilless, and I like to do it during dryback so the kPa is only low when the plant isn't feeding. I don't want the stomata closed when they are feeding, but I don't care if they are closed beforehand. I like to open up my grow, spray them right away before it gets hot and then mix my nutrients. By the time the spray has evaporated it's time to feed. I didn't know it was only 15% though. That's interesting. It made me pause for a second, but then... I only mix about 250ml at a time, so the cost is about $0.03. I've also heard that silica is better absorbed through leaves. I'm not sure if that's true or not.

Is it just a mulch or can I use it in soil making replacing peat moss, or replacing the compost? And would it be the same ration? Can I use it in place of the 3-4 inches of compost I add to my raised beds each fall. Thanks so much!!

    • @GardenerScott
      @GardenerScott День назад

      When the leaf mold is fully decomposed it can be used as a soil amendment and not just mulch. It can be a replacement for peat moss but is better used as a supplement to compost. Compost and leaf mold will have different nutrients to offer plants.
